Computer History Museum

The Computer History Museum is a Silicon Valley institution that examines computing’s ongoing impact on the world. Its mission is to decode the computing past, digital present and technology’s future impact on humanity. It pursues that work through research, exhibits, events, and an extensive collection of artifacts and stories.1

An editorial identity

Preserving firsthand testimony is a central part of that mission. CHM’s oral history program records and preserves the recollections of computing pioneers from around the world; its collection contains more than a thousand in-depth interviews and demonstrations spanning computing, technological innovation, the web, entrepreneurship and networking.2

The interview retained for Ooléle’s Jensen Huang Special was conducted by Douglas Fairbairn and Hansen Hsu on August 9, 2024, in Santa Clara. Published by the Museum’s channel, it traces Huang’s personal path, NVIDIA’s founding and early crises, its hardware-software architecture, and his practice of working simultaneously on the present and the future.3
